Baby Jesus, the precious Word of God! Though we do not know the day that Jesus was born, it has been testified that He came and lived and died and rose again, in order to save us from our sins and reconcile us to our God. Do our children know about this Savior?
I received my first Bible from the public school. It was considered the most important book to a childs life at that time. Today, Christ is being removed as fast as possible because the liberals feel it might damage a child. God has become a threat to America’s way of life instead of being the life of America’s ways. What has happened to us? Have we changed our God?
Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no
water.Jeremiah 2:11-13
These verses are talking about Israel, but it is exactly what we in America have done. Think about it! Do you know of any other nation that has changed their god or gods lately? Yet, we have! We have changed our glory for that which doth not profit. WHY? What did God do to us to make us turn our backs on Him?
Our God, the God of Creation, will not serve alongside another god! When America embraced other gods to serve alongside our God, America became the strange woman found in Ezekiel chapter sixteen. We have committed these two evils the Scripture talks about.
We have forsaken the “fountain of living waters.” To forsake God is to forsake life! America will soon be thirsty again and she will not be able to find the fountain. Right now she is drinking out of broken cisterns, which are leftovers from the blessings, but soon the leftovers will be gone. We can store some of God’s blessings for a little while, but soon the thirst will return. We also have changed our “glory”. God is the reason America has been called the “Beautiful”.
Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
Jeremiah 2:17
We lost our crown when we invited other gods into our nation.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

What is going to happen to America? I cannot predict the judgments that the Lord will use, but I can tell you that the judgments will be the very things that we have done and they will be turned back on us. You don’t like your correction? You asked for it! Our own wickedness will be used to correct us. God is a just God; our judgment fits the crime. What we have done is an “evil thing” and “bitter”. There is “no fear of God” in our country.
Look at the things the Lord has done for America. He broke our yoke when He gave us the power to break away and become our own nation. He burst our bands and made us a “FREE” country. He gave us the ability to live in freedom. What have we done with this freedom? We have played the harlot and we have wandered under every green tree. He planted us a noble vine, a right seed. America has been the greatest nation in the world, but is quickly becoming a strange vine unto God. What do we say about this? We say we are “not polluted” and we have done nothing wrong. God is trying to get us to look and see what we have done, but is our country looking? We have done just like Israel did! There is one difference. We are not the promised nation. God has not made the promises to America that He has to His nation, the Jews. God could wipe us off the map and we would just be history. God did not owe us the blessings He has poured upon our country all of these years. We have been living under the mercy of God’s good hand because we sought Him and we found Him. America has only one hope. We had better turn back to God quickly or we will be telling our children what it was like in the good old days!!!
I was born in the 1940’s when the church was blooming. The depression was not far behind and the people remembered what it was like to be needy. All the stories were yesterday’s news, fresh and on everyone’s heart. That was when you would go to the table and mother would say, “Eat what’s on your plate, the children in other countries are hungry and would love to have your food.” Gloria’s daddy lived on a farm and he would go rabbit hunting to put meat on the table.
Her daddy always made his stories interesting when he would tell how it was. He said he would run up alongside the rabbit and feel his ribs to see if he was big enough to eat. If he wasn’t, he would let him go. Gloria would always laugh, knowing that he was “pulling her leg.” but Gloria was talking with one of her daddy’s friends from childhood and he said he had watched her daddy catch a rabbit with his hands. The difference between the story of Gloria’s daddy and today is that we live in the city and there are no rabbits!!! Wake up America. Israel said, “We have not sinned.” God asked Israel the question,
Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way?
If we are alright, why are we trying so hard to change our way?
Read Jeremiah chapter two and you will see that America has done to God exactly what His chosen people Israel did to Him. You would think we would learn by their mistakes.
Do our children KNOW this baby Jesus that we will be celebrating this month? Do we KNOW Him? He is not just another history story. He came to redeem our souls. It was God in that manger. It was God that walked and talked with man. It was God that went to that cross and arose from the grave to pay the price for our redemption.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
